A taste of the good life

May 31st, 2008

Last night was the wedding of one of our former crossmind princesses, Emily Borah, and Northview’s worship pastor, Tommy Bailey.  We completely love this couple and couldn’t be happier.  They are absolutely wonderful together.

I’d like to say I have some pictures, but I didn’t bring my camera.  You’ll have to use your imagination and just believe me, it was amazing.  First off, it was held in the home of David Green, owner of Hemispheres and Hobby Lobby.  Oh. my. gosh.  Their pool house was three times bigger than our home.  And cleaner.  haha

The wedding was held outside on the front steps of their mansion.  Then the reception was in the back “yard”– can you call it that??  It was amazing.  There were different levels of patios and an infinity pool, of course all of this on top of a hill looking over a beautiful Oklahoma countryside.  It was amazing.  Watching the sun set from there was heaven.  I kept thinking–and honestly hoping–that my house in heaven will be that nice.  It took them 7 years to build it and we only saw about a third of it.   It was just massive.  (I hope Jesus decides I need one of those infinity pools.)

Emily looked like a true princess with her gorgeous dress and her hair up in flowers.  She looked so classic and beautiful.  I loved watching Tommy and Emily smile at eachother during their vows.  So precious!

Everything was just perfect.  And it was definitely the fanciest wedding I’ve ever been to–and probably the funnest.  I knew everyone because Emily grew up at our old church where we were youth pastors.  And then everyone else was from Northview.  It was a party to end all parties!  I had a great time because I got to talk to everyone!  And our friends were there from Tulsa, so we ate with them.  It was soooo good to catch up with them, and everyone.  Perfection!

 ETA two pics for now…

This was on the back patio area…from down the first set of steps

No amount of money…

May 29th, 2008

Would make me relive yesterday.

But let’s get some housekeeping done first. I decided I didn’t like the crayons as much as I like this layout.  Tell me if you think it’s too boring, but I kinda like the simplicity of the sepia/black/white thing going on…

We started back at MDO today, with Gracie out of school I’m schlepping two blondies in with me every morning.  It’s exhausting.  And of course, everything that could have gone wrong, did.  It was chaos.  Once everyone was settled into their rooms it was fine. But holy. cow.

When we got home, I needed a break so I sent the girls out to play.  Using a spoon and a Gladware container stolen from the kitchen, they managed to find enough dirt, dead leaves, and roly polys to start a little bug observatory.  I am actually okay with this and even helped them “catch” a few of them.  But really, like whistles and drum sets and moon sand, bugs are outside toys.  Trinity didn’t realize this as she dumped the entire container of dirt and about 80 roly polys onto the table in the living room, sending our dear friends crawling in all different directions.  Ew.  I had to scrape them all back in as the girls screamed, ran around the house, and laughed in amusement.  Double ew.

I’ve decided to let Gracie drop tee ball.  She’s just not enjoying it, and I don’t like pushing her.  So back to cheerleading it is!  I kind of assumed she’d be a cheerleader because she has been bubbly since before she was born.  Even in her ultrasound, she was dancing and doing flips. She was born flirting and smiling.  I should have known.  *insert eye roll here*  Mini me.

She gave it a go…

Her true passion:

Anything else?  Oh yes,  Trinity.  Yesterday she thought it would be fun to poke at a wasp and it thought it would be fun to poke back.  Thankfully we have a clinic in the Albertson’s/Homeland (referred to in our house as Homersons, for future reference) grocery store so $20 later we were on our way home with some kiddie Benadryl and a Dora bandaid.  My poor baby!  She’s my trouble maker.  I have a feeling she will be the kid who’s in the ER every few months.  Sigh.

Cute but crazy.  Things even out.

This week in review.

May 27th, 2008

We had our Northview friends over last night for some burgers, brats, and swimming.  It was sooooo fun!  But my house is now filthy and I have a headache today.  The girls slept in a bit, until 7:40, so that was nice.  I’m just really unmotivated to get up and re-load the dishwasher, re-mop the floor, re-vacuum the carpets, and tidy up.  Hmmm, let’s see, what else?  Trinity can say all kinds of words now, she’s repeating words now and speaking in three to four word sentences!  Go Trinity!  And we finally got around to having her birthday party, but I haven’t posted any pics!  So here you are:

Dora overload anyone?

Gracie’s officially a preK graduate!  So now we’re officially in Summer and looking forward to being a kindergartener.  We’re going to have to figure out what to do all summer.  We did buy a little pool for the girls so that will be something to do when it’s super hot.  But not having a routine is hard for mommy!

We went to the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History last week.  We saw some really great displays and the girls had a blast!  Look at these awesome Dinosaurs!

Here’s some new pics of the Gracie girl.  I’m really wanting a professional grade camera and I’m trying to get more artsy shots.  I’m also into doing the color adjustments in photoshop.  I love that look, but it will be better when I have a nicer camera.  Until then, I’m just doing these and learning all I can…

Under Construction!

May 22nd, 2008

Hey everyone, I just wanted to update you to let you all know that we are finally making the move from Xanga!  I got so sick of stupid Xanga trying to add new applications, constant glitches, and the poor customer service,  so Chris helped me set this up!

Bear with us as we add some cool new stuff and hopefully it will be better for all of us in the long run!

And for those of you who are looking for the old stuff, with my cancer journey and pisc of the kids and whatnot, we are in the process of archiving it all now.  No worries, it’s not lost and gone forever!!  It will be available soon.

Update: Comments are working now! (Please note your first comment will be held for moderation)

May 20th, 2008

So we have been married 8 years today.  I can’t believe it.  It has been a long journey…longer than most people’s 8 years I’m sure.  Everyone’s got their troubles but we certainly have stuck together for richer and poorer, in sickness and in health.  We have been through all of that, plus some!  I am so happy that God gave me Chris and I know that he is the one I will grow old with.  We always joke about being little old people in rocking chairs on the front porch of our big country house drinking lemonade and watching the sun set.  That’s how it’s going to be, because with all we’ve been through, our love is strong enough to last another hundred years.
