September 29th, 2007

Yup, it’s really strange to pick up a magazine and see your big ole’ face in it!  But it’s kinda cool too, and I think the article captured the very raw emotion and real journey we all endured.  I think Jill, the writer is amazing.  It was a neat experience to work with her and the photographer, Katja, as well. It is all very surreal.

Okay.  So that was yesterday, fast forward to today.  Holland had a birthday party at her grandparents house and Gracie was beside herself.  She ran into the house crying “Holland, I’ve missed you for days and days!”  LOL  I’ve also missed Holland and her family very much, so it was wonderful to spend time with them.  Tricia reminded me that it was Holland’s birthday party last year that I confided in their family that I might have breast cancer.  Wow, what a year it’s been!

Also Gracie and I are part of the breast cancer awareness event at Penn Square Mall this weekend.  Today we were in fashion shows at 2 and 4.  Tomorrow the show is at 3 (If you wanna come see us!!)  It’s a lot of fun.  We get a gift bag of things tomorrow when we’re done, and we get paid in $100 mall gift cards.  SOOOO totally worth it!  And fun too!  Today our MC was Drew from Drew and Casey on KISS FM.  He was told that I am in People, so of course, every time I went up he had to mention to the entire gathering that they need to go buy People magazine and read my story!

Gracie’s having a blast.  She’s right in her element.  Every time she’s up on the “runway” she waves and smiles all the way around.  She’s getting lots of attention and you know she likes that!

So that’s what I have been up to.  There has been so much excitement around here, I’m kinda ready for a boring day! Oh well, maybe next week!

Gosh, I hate to leave you with no pics.  Sorry, maybe I’ll get some up tomorrow!

So the journalist emailed me to let me know I can say…it’s…

PEOPLE MAGAZINE!

ETA: PAGE 66!

The date on the front of the magazine is October 8th but it hits newsstands FRIDAY!  It’s the one with Faith Hill on the cover.

So there it is.  Whew!  Do you have any idea how hard it was for me to keep that secret for all these months?!?

I’ll be looking all sickly because I was still going through treatments, but the journalist said that there are some great pics and the article is “beautiful”– so we’ll see!  I’m so nervous!

Alright, enough about that.  Check out this sweet froggy hat.  The legs move up and down when she walks.

Today we went over to a friend’s house to eat Happy Meals and play.  I had a great time too, so thanks, AMY!  Or can I not use your name? Hahahahaha!  Gracie and Carson played “mommy and daddy” and told us to be quiet so we wouldn’t wake the babies.  So sweet!  Gracie is totally in love with Carson, it’s the cutest thing ever.  He just thinks she’s fun to play with.  Carson has two sisters– one older than Trinity and one a bit younger.  So Trinity had lots of fun, too.  They all played well and there were no fights or tears–a true miracle!

I tried putting Trinity’s hair in pigtails but she gets so mad at me.  I think It’s really cute though.

Doesn’t she look like a little brat in this pic?  She’s always climbing on stuff.  She is sweet, but very, very naughty.

And I have to share this one with you, but you can’t laugh at the apple juice stains on my sofa.  Yes, we need to get it professionally cleaned.  It’s not pee, it’s just a little juice, that’s all. So don’t judge.  LOL This is Gracie’s “class” when she plays Miss Moroz.  She reads to her students and asks them questions.  Her classroom is the living room so when I come in she asks me to please not disturb her class. She taught them on this day about squirrels, frogs, the letter A, and opposites. Then she lined all the students up for class pictures.  Haha!

The writer called me today about the article.  Looks like Friday will be the day it’s on newsstands.  I don’t know if I can say yet what mag it is.  But they’re going to call me back tomorrow for a couple more details and I’ll ask if I can say on here.  So stay tuned!  I’m so nervous and kinda excited!!

Okay, if you’re a mom with a kid in diapers (which is about 90% of my readers) you have to go to www.mysurvey.com and fill out a profile.  I just stumbled upon it one day and thought it was like all those other sites that promise free samples and you never get anything.  I got a package delivered yesterday and it had this inside:

Two packs of diapers to test out on Miss Trinity and then all I have to do is answer a survey when they email it to me.  How cool is that?  Bring on the free stuff!  I’ll try it…heck, yeah!

And I know you’re all sick of seeing my little mini-me doing her cheers, but this is awesome. (Gracie’s in the bright green apron top and blue capris)  For those of you who don’t hear decibels that high, they’re saying “let’s shake it, let’s shout it! BHS”

Today they all wore their cheer camp shirts for spirit day (every Friday in football season)

Trinity has perfected the words “up” “bath” and “ball” and is not really interested in any more than that. I guess if that’s all you need in life, then things must be going pretty well.

The money situation worked out.  God always provides.  He is always good.

I’m speaking at the Komen Race for the Cure.  I’m not sure in what capacity yet, but what an HONOR!

Supposedly our BIG article in the BIG magazine is coming out next week.  I’ll believe it when I see it.

We’re really blessed.  Life is good.

Sorry about the previous post.  Life’s not all that bad.  There’s always something to make us smile in this house!

And here’s the video of Miss Gracie’s attempt at a toe touch.  Thanks, Ma, for the uniform! Now she’s a real Bethany Bronchos cheerleader!
