April 28th, 2006

Okay, so a lot has happened in just a few short days. It’s been one crazy week!

We are the proud new owners of a bright red Chrysler Town and Country LX.  I know it’s nothing any of you would really be excited about, but I am actually really happy with it.  It’s a super clean 2003 with low miles and it’s fully loaded. We didn’t actually want automatic sliding doors and a DVD player in it, but it came with it, so…

Janie’s doing well recovering from her hip replacement.  I can’t wait till she’s fully recovered and feeling 100% again.  She will enjoy so much more.

Gracie has fallen in love with the Wonder Pets (Disney channel, maybe?) and she sings the theme song a LOT.  She went to the farm with Leah and her family the other day.  What fun!  She got to watch a sheep shearing, see the ducklings and chickens, and pick some flowers on a hayride.  She also touched a snake! She’s getting excited to be  the big sister.

Dr Saunders tried to make me go into labor this morning.  I won’t be too graphic, but ouch!  I think it may be working. I’m having some big contractions that almost warrant timing.  We’ll see where they lead.  Also, if Baby Gap hasn’t come by next Tuesday, Dr Saunders is going to have me come in and we’ll break my water.  So we’ll have our baby girl by Wednesday definitely! Yay!

Thanks to everyone who left me eprops last post about exactly HOW to get the baby out.  Don’t you think that since that’s how she got in there, that it would be a natural for us to try that to get her out? Geez, we’re working on it, okay? Hehe.

My mother in law, Janie, had hip replacement surgery yesterday. Last night she seemed in good spirits and we’re going to the hospital again tonight.  It’s going to be a long recovery but once she’s healed completely, I think she’ll be glad she did it . I’m blessed to have good in laws that I love so much.

Today was “take your kid to work day” and AOL only allows 6-year-olds and up.  So we went to Da’s job at the corporate offices of Homeland.  They had a bunch of inflatables and carnival games with prizes and a picnic too! Gracie got a 2 huge bags full of toys and candy and a bunch of test market products that haven’t come out in stores yet.  That’s fun.  Gracie’s blown through some interesting snacks today.

Gracie keeps losing her imaginary friend (Gray Boy) and asking me to find him.  Ummmm…is that normal?  As if I don’t have enough to keep up with in the real world?  What am I supposed to even say to that?

Baby Gap update–well, her room is ready.  All but the wall letters.  Chris put her changing table together last night and the whole room is precious.  I’m excited and overwhelmed.  Let’s just do this already! People really freak out when they ask, “When are you due?” and I reply, “Monday.”  Were so close!

This baby is NEVER coming out.  Waaaaaaaaaa!

***EDIT***Gracie’s singing…

(to the tune of Here is our King, David Crowder)

“Here is my ring, He is my God, He is Jesus…”

My treasures:

Yesterday was pretty amazing.  We had our third celebration for Baby Gap at a park with Chris’ parents’ dinner group and their kids (all in our 30’s) and the grandkids (lots of kids for Gracie to play with–ages 12 weeks to 7 years old) and four babysitters to wrangle kids. It was a potluck/picnic style and everyone had a great time.  We got our changing table (YAY!) and a lot of really nice gifts. It was so special.  When we got home, Gracie was so exhausted, she asked us to put her to bed!

Hmmm, lazy Sunday.  We didn’t make it to church. I have a lot of nesting left to do today.  I also have to go to the mall and exchange some clothes at (the store) Baby Gap.  So I better go.  Lots of stuff to get done before baby decides to make her arrival!
