Today was good.
Gracie cheered this morning with a different cheerleading team. It’s all Upward, but her coach couldn’t make it and asked me to fill in if anyone showed up. Well, the other girls didn’t come so Gracie cheered with the 6 year olds and fit right in. I was relieved, because it was next to impossible to co-coach with Trinity running everywhere. I can’t imagine how difficult it would have been coaching all by myself.
My mom took me to a day spa for Mother’s Day. Yes, I know Mother’s Day is in MAY…we finally got it booked in December and today was the first opening they had. We had wonderful massages and yummy food with wine and chocolate covered strawberries. Oh how I needed it! Afterward, we drove by Starbucks to indulge in my favorite, A tall skinny Cinnamon Dolce latte, and at the drive through they had these cute little valentines gifts out. I loooooved the pink heart tumbler, so my mom bought it for me. Spoiled! And pampered, but I soooo needed it! When I got home it was back to cleaning and thinking about dinner. Oh well, at least a few hours were all about me!
Here’s another random pic for ya…my new travel tumbler– Isn’t it darling? I can take it with me every morning when I drop Gracie off at school. Because really, I’m embarrassed to say it, sometimes I take a ceramic coffee cup with me in the mornings. And those…um, spill. Yeah.
So I’ve been walking/strength training 3 miles a day! I feel like it’s going to really help my body move forward post chemo and steroids (and who knows what else they pumped into me) when I was sick. I was a bit skeptical about how my oncologist said around Christmas, the steroids would “wear off” and I’d be able to lose the weight, feel normal, have my energy back. Well, just last week I was hauling tree branches to the curb and guess what? I had an ASHTMA attack! I know this doesn’t sound like GOOD news, and really it’s not, but that means he’s right!! The steroids prevented me from having asthma all last year, and that is where the weight gain came from too. So now that the steroids are gone…well, I’m hoping this weight just falls off with my daily workout and continuing to be active. Yay! It’s kinda funny I had to search everywhere for my inhaler after not using it for almost a year. Finally I just went and grabbed Trinity’s lol. Guess I need a new prescription!
That’s it. Have a great Saturday and enjoy the rest of your weekend!
