Happy Birthday, Oklahoma! I know, I’m a day late…but we had a big night. After my day at MDO, I took the girls over to my parents house where Matthew (or, UnkaMafew as Gracie calls him) let Gracie help him cook the family a centennial feast! My mom, Brookey and I went to a spa open house where we enjoyed hors d’overes, cranberry wine, foot massages, a chair massage, and pepperminty sugar scrubs. My mom booked a day in January so that we could go back. It’s my mother’s day gift that we haven’t had time SINCE MAY…to do. So I need this. And the centennial feast was yummy. Matthew made the “official” Oklahoma meal–including cornbread, biscuits and gravy, barbecued pork, chicken fried steak, black eyed peas, pecan pie, fried okra, squash, and strawberries. It was a ton of food and it was all so good.
Friday morning I looked down at my right hand and thought, “oh WOW, I’m totally getting fat” and then I realized that my whole hand was puffy and swollen–you can’t even see my knuckles! (It’s still swollen) I called my oncologist and he said if it’s still swollen on Monday to call him back. I guess it’s not life threatening but it’s soooo annoying to have to worry about stupid stuff like lymphedema. Screw you, cancer, still messing with me after I have been declared a survivor! Shame on you! I have better things to do, thank you very much. Kindly go back to the back of my mind where you will stay so that I can enjoy my life like you were never there at all. =)
I’m on facebook now. If you have one come find me, because I’m facebook-challenged and I don’t know how to find people. I found a friend of mine from Northview, and then from his I found a couple more but that’s where the fun ended.
And that’s…where my post ends. Goodnight.
