September 29, 2007

Yup, it’s really strange to pick up a magazine and see your big ole’ face in it!  But it’s kinda cool too, and I think the article captured the very raw emotion and real journey we all endured.  I think Jill, the writer is amazing.  It was a neat experience to work with her and the photographer, Katja, as well. It is all very surreal.

Okay.  So that was yesterday, fast forward to today.  Holland had a birthday party at her grandparents house and Gracie was beside herself.  She ran into the house crying “Holland, I’ve missed you for days and days!”  LOL  I’ve also missed Holland and her family very much, so it was wonderful to spend time with them.  Tricia reminded me that it was Holland’s birthday party last year that I confided in their family that I might have breast cancer.  Wow, what a year it’s been!

Also Gracie and I are part of the breast cancer awareness event at Penn Square Mall this weekend.  Today we were in fashion shows at 2 and 4.  Tomorrow the show is at 3 (If you wanna come see us!!)  It’s a lot of fun.  We get a gift bag of things tomorrow when we’re done, and we get paid in $100 mall gift cards.  SOOOO totally worth it!  And fun too!  Today our MC was Drew from Drew and Casey on KISS FM.  He was told that I am in People, so of course, every time I went up he had to mention to the entire gathering that they need to go buy People magazine and read my story!

Gracie’s having a blast.  She’s right in her element.  Every time she’s up on the “runway” she waves and smiles all the way around.  She’s getting lots of attention and you know she likes that!

So that’s what I have been up to.  There has been so much excitement around here, I’m kinda ready for a boring day! Oh well, maybe next week!

Gosh, I hate to leave you with no pics.  Sorry, maybe I’ll get some up tomorrow!

“For decades, the women in Kari Moroz’s family never talked about their breast cancer. Then Kari was diagnosed – at age 29″

I’m so glad that you got to share your story… you never know who’s life you’re going to touch, and when you have so much to offer the world.. you’ve got to get yourself out there:) I’m so proud of the faith and courage you’ve had through all of this… I know you’ve had your moments, but you wouldn’t be normal if you didn’t. God has and will continue to use you and what you’ve been through in such amazing ways… not just the cancer either… everything you guys have faced together… you’ve been so faithful, and have been SUCH an example… you will be rewarded!

I bought it today & the article had me crying.  I know I’ve been following you for over a year but wow.  Praise the Lord for blessing you, keeping you, giving you the strength to continue your treatments and giving you a place to reach others.  Wow.  I hope your week is going well too.

I told my mom to go out and buy the magazine so it would be here when I came home for break :).  It’s such a beautiful article, and I’m amazed by your strength, courage, and vulnerability.  You are something else, Kari. :)

Your family is beautiful, by the way.  I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve seen you all (you all meaning you and Chris, since I only really knew you pre-babies!)!

Keep your chin up!  I have no doubt that you are inspiring a great deal of people with your article!
