So my Friday was planned to be uneventful. I had made it that way on purpose, because our lives have been overwhelmingly busy for too long and me and the girls needed some downtime. Then I get a call from my sister, who told me she was headed to work but had been at the hospital. My dad was in the ER because he was in a wreck on I-40 and had totalled the car. So I woke Trinity up from her nap and got the girls off to the ER. We took Daddy home and I went to get his prescriptions and lunch. He’s fine for the most part, but that was scary. A wheel had come off a trailer heading westbound and hit a car in the next lane, sending this poor young woman into oncoming traffic and my dad hit her. Then she was hit again. Then some other cars were involved. My dad was lucky, he walked away, but the other driver wasn’t as lucky. They were both taken to the ER, but she went to the trauma center. Thank God Daddy had not been driving his big truck, the impact would have killed her. I hope she’s okay…
Then we got home and Chris got a call from his dad. Yup, Dick was in a wreck too! In his new truck. Geez. He’s not hurt either, and the damage to his truck was minor, but I about lost it. I just wanted to go to back to bed and pretend yesterday never happened.
Today was better, we met Dick and Janie for pizza at Hideaway for Chris’ birthday and then went back to the house for gifts and a big birthday cookie. Pictures will have to wait, the computer’s acting goofy. And I’m sleepy. Goodnight!
