We woke up early and I took the girls to REST, my moms group at church. I hadn’t been in 2 months because it’s every other Thursday and it was always the same day as my chemo. So today was really special and I got to see all my friends! Oh–and I got breakfast and a 2 hour break from being a mommy too! LOL That’s a nice treat.
Then we went to gymnastics and took Arwyn as our guest. She did great and had lots of fun! I hope they join…Kendra, her mom, and I are close. We just knew from the time we met (at REST) that we would be close friends–I love that!
Then we took the girls to McDonald’s to wear them out. Gracie threw a massive tantrum when they gave her a “Wicked witch of the East” Happy Meal toy instead of “Glenda, the good witch.” I wasn’t real sympathetic because somehow, someway we always end up with a ton of stupid little trinkets/toys…and they end up all over the floor and I trip on them and almost break my ankle. I’m sure she’ll get her Glenda. And Dorothy. And the Cowardly Lion.
The girls both were so tired, they fell asleep the minute we got home. I took a loooong bath with my super fancy Dead Sea salts and scrub. I relaxed with my head underwater and listened to my heartbeat slow down and felt my body completely relax.
Meagan (thank you Meagan!) came over to watch the girls so we could go to dinner with my parents and Brookey. It was a special dinner, a celebration of my finishing chemo! We went to Bahama Breeze and ate delicious food and I ordered a Pina colada and some other yummy drink. We laughed a lot and ate big chocolate desserts. It was fabulous! I’ve come a long way and it was fantastic to celebrate that!
I have reason to celebrate, I’m alive and I have a great family. I’m so thankful for my life!
