Well, I had a super wonderful birthday! Thursday morning, my mom friends from REST came to clean my house and it is sparkling! They stocked the pantry abd fridge with food and brought us toilet paper for the next six months too! Thursday night, Dick and Janie took us out to Yamato, my favorite Japanese steakhouse. We had steak, shrimp, chicken and sushi. Gracie and Trinity looooved the fire at our table and the chef just thought they were the cutest. I was afraid Trinity would be terrified of the flames but she was completely mesmerized. She even got to eat some rice. I got a worship journal, Mardel gift card (I’ve been wanting the book my pastor has been reading “In the Den with a Lion on a Snowy Day”) and a gift certificate for a pedicure.
Friday I woke up and Gracie and Chris sang Happy Birthday to me and gave me a new mixer. (My Cuisinart died in the middle of a thick batch of Christmas cookies, so I’m happy to have a new one!) Then it was off to get Chris to work, Gracie to school and Trinity to Mother’s Day Out (Baby School, as Gracie calls it) Then I went and got a BIG coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts and ran a few errands before my appointment with Dr Tfayli. At my appointment, he said everything looked fine, but unfortunately the nerves were damaged permanently in my right armpit and down my arm to my elbow. Oh well. I start chemo again next Thursday. Sigh. Let’s just get it over with, shall we? After that I found a wig store that had funky cool wigs and treated myself to some Birthday hair. LOL My first wig was about $300 and these were anywhere from $15-30. I don’t know why they’re so cheap, but I like my new long red hair with blonde highlights! I like the idea of being able to be blonde, bald or auburn according to my mood. That’s fun!
That night we went to Oklahoma Station Barbecue and ate with my parents and sister Brooke. Brookey got me a cute shirt and blazer and some shoes. Woooo! My parents are giving me my gift later…I have no idea what it could be! (the pic below is after dinner)
My brother Matthew called from Colorado before I went to bed. Tonight we are going to a New Orleans/OKC Hornets game. All in all it was a great birthday. I have everything I could hope for, I got to see (or at least talk to) all my immediate family, and I have the best little family ever. Life is such a gift. I’m so happy to be celebrating 30 years!
