Gracie was begging for a friend to come over.  Carson’s mommy is 9 months pregnant and was ready for a break.  Perfect!  Carson spent a couple hours with us last night.  We grilled burgers, the kids played on the swing set, and then they watched Little Einsteins together.  We’re going to have to do this more often.  THIS–just being a normal mom–is why I want to get well.  If Chris hadn’t been home, well, I wouldn’t have been able to do it.  But I feel soooo good lately.  I look forward to more play dates.  The kids had a blast and Chris and I laughed so hard at them.  They are just too funny together.

Here are some pictures of them taking advantage of the unusual 70 degree weather last night (today it’s in the 40’s–that’s Oklahoma for ya!)

I took a little video too–sorry it starts out dark, but it gets better.  Gosh, I hate my giggle!

Lesson of the day~

Stock their bedrooms and toy chests full of the newest and coolest stuff, and they inevitably will find more interesting “toys” to play with…

On another note, our neighbor Don passed away yesterday morning.  He was wheelchair bound and suffered lots of health problems for years. He loved Gracie so much, and would always try and get her to tell him stories or sing him songs.  I know that it didn’t settle in when I told her that he was in heaven, but when Spring comes and he’s not sitting out on the patio waving her over to come to see him, it will be devastating for her.  We sent flowers to his wife, Vi.  I also asked her to please come over to visit or for tea anytime she would like.  I can’t imagine how hard it is, to take care of someone so long and then all of a sudden be alone.  So hopefully she will be able to get out of the house now and feel freedom as opposed to loneliness. The next few weeks are going to be hard for her.  I want to reach out to her as best I can, I think the girls will be helpful in her healing.  She loves them so much.

Sorry to be so depressing with that last paragraph.  If you’re sad now, just click on the video again.
